Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos confirmed on late Wednesday. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had been under observation while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
Remembering the Victims
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”
