This event resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for administering a noxious substance, according to official statements.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Earlier that day, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people required hospital care and were subsequently released.

The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
