Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil represent the initial names in the frame to succeed Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolves.

The previous coach was dismissed on Sunday after the squad's ten-game without a victory beginning to the Premier League campaign.

And both candidates - both of who have historic links to the team - are part of the options to be considered by the club ownership.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a unexpected contender, although he would be a surprising appointment given he was released by Wolves in the previous winter.

The ex- West Ham United midfielder is currently unemployed which means the club would not be required to pay any buyout fee.
