Barça Set to Play First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years following their departure for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
